Our 2025 Catalyst Grant Recipients
Each of these projects reflects LDF’s commitment to regenerative impact—with a special emphasis this year on our climate and sustainability pillar. Whether through education, agriculture, conservation, or workforce development, these initiatives are moving us closer to a future where people and the planet thrive together.
We’re proud to partner with these six dynamic organizations as they lead change in their communities—and we invite you to learn more about their work below.
Our Fundworthy Projects:
ImpactNV & Las Vegas Area Council, Boy Scouts of America
Project: Youth Conservation Leadership through Urban Forestry
Ask: $75,000 | LDF Funded: $50,000
Websites: impact-nv.org | scoutinglvac.org
This partnership plants the seeds of environmental leadership by integrating urban forestry, conservation merit badges, and sustainability education into Scouting. Youth will participate in hands-on workshops, community tree-planting events, and a conservation-themed camp—all tied to ImpactNV’s 10-Year, 100,000 Tree Program, a regional effort to address climate equity and heat island mitigation.
Climate Connection:
This project empowers youth to become environmental stewards while directly contributing to urban greening and climate justice. Scouts will plant trees in vulnerable neighborhoods, and The Ability Center will join in support—making it a powerful cross-project collaboration.
Lighthouse Charities
Project: Rose Creek Farm – Barn Renovation
Ask: $75,000 | LDF Funded: $32,300
Website: lighthousecharities.net
At Rose Creek Farm, an old barn is being transformed into a training ground for sustainability. The new space will feature a community bakery, retail storefront, and workforce development hub for displaced and underserved individuals. Participants will gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and low-waste business practices.
Climate Connection:

TFT addresses Clark County’s teacher shortage by mentoring paraprofessionals through licensure and supporting new teachers in their early years. With LDF’s support, 15 paraprofessionals will receive stipends, mentorship, test prep, and classroom starter kits. Thanks to a new partnership with the Springs Preserve, these educators will also gain access to environmental sustainability curriculum, bringing climate education to classrooms across the valley.
Climate Connection:
Supports a growing network of teachers equipped to deliver climate literacy and embed sustainability into public education.
Green Our Planet
Project: Student Innovation Shark Tank
Ask: $25,000 | LDF Funded: $10,000
Website: greenourplanet.org
Green Our Planet’s Shark Tank challenges students to solve real-world climate issues. Through a structured program and pitch competition, students propose community-centered sustainability solutions—building both knowledge and leadership skills in the process. Prizes and mentorship support help bring their visions to life.
Climate Connection:
Centering youth-driven climate innovation, this program fosters creative problem-solving around environmental issues that matter locally and globally.
The Ability Center of Southern Nevada
Project: Operation Sustainability
Ask: $10,000 | LDF Funded: $10,000
